If you've read our Origin Story, then you know that for decades, the secrets of the caves and the bears existed only within one family.

Born around holiday tables in Western Australia, this unusual dice game challenged players to discover a hidden pattern concealed within three ordinary dice. Children, cousins, friends, parents, grandparents — even entire rooms full of adults — would scribble notes, compare theories, and chase clues in an attempt to solve the mystery.

​

Those who believed they'd cracked it could request The Test. Success meant initiation into a secret society, complete with a ceremonial oath and, as a new Guardian of the Caves & Bears, a solemn promise to never reveal the secrets of the caves and the bears.

Now, for the first time, that tradition is being shared with the world.

Our Caves & Bears game is an individual challenge combining a puzzle element, group camaraderie, and a unique secret society experience. It rewards curiosity, observation, pattern recognition, and persistence. Some (ridiculously brilliant) players can solve it in an evening. Most others will take multiple sessions over days, weeks, or even years to uncover the truth.

Who will like this game?

This game is perfect for puzzle lovers, neurodivergent thinkers, families, gamers, escape-room enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys uncovering hidden patterns and secrets.

Is there a recommended age range?

The game is best for folks aged 12+.

​

How many people can play?

Minimum of 2 and maximum of 6 players, including one nominated Guardian to learn the Secret Method and host each play session.

How long is a play session?

This is entirely up to your player group. A play session can be anywhere from just five minutes to over an hour. The player group can stop once a Guardianship is reached or whenever your puzzle-solving brains are tired for the day and need a rest.

Do you have a shopfront, so I can purchase/pick up a game pack in person?

As a tiny family business, we don't have a shop. However, if you live in Perth, I am happy to arrange pickup with you from a different business location. Please email us to enquire.

 

What's included in a game pack?

We have developed a Standard Set (available now) and are working on a Rare Bear Limited Edition (coming soon). The contents for each set are listed below.
