At Caves & Bears, we take great mama bear pride in publishing authentic writing by the following Australian neurodivergent voices.

Shannon is the founder and managing editor of Caves & Bears. She began an entrepreneurial career in Year Four when she launched a bedroom library. Since then, she dropped out of high school and embraced life as a teen mum. She went on to achieve a Bachelor of Writing, become a published author, and run a NFP writers' centre as CEO. Shannon is autistic and was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 40. She has three adult sons and lives in the Swan Valley region of Western Australia with her (probably neurodivergent) husband.
